The AI-based contour segmentation is only available if the PAI functionality has been licensed. As of now the segmentation of human and mouse images is supported, whereas it is not yet available for analyzing rat data. The example illustrated uses mouse data is which only includes a single slice over the heartbeat.
Please refer to the PAI User Guide
Preprocessing
Compared to the Active Contour Segmentation the amount of preprocessing is limited. Please follow these steps:
1.Select the correct species (HUMAN or MOUSE)
2.Switch segmentation to Machine Learning Segmentation. Note that because of the species setting automatically the MRI Myocardium 2D method is selected, which has been trained with mouse images. In the case of HUMAN species the MRI Human Myocardium method will be selected.
3.Select a Frame which clearly shows both ventricles and activate the Marker definition
4.Click into the center of the LV, crating the center marker.
5.Click into the center of the myocardial muscle at the location, where the RV ends.
Segmentation
Activate the Machine Learning Segmentation button to initiate the segmentation process. The result is shown and can be analyzed as described below.
